Silver Slim PSP. Been wanting one for months now solely for it's TV-Out function, and with a bundle of Wal-Mart cards at my disposal, I finally got one.
And with my the help of a DC3V, I am now flashing to a custom firmware.
EDIT: M33 is now running! That was incredibly easy!

Oh yeah, I forgot about those things. Has there been any improvement in emulation with the new Slim PSP? From what I've heard it's supposed to be relatively faster or something, that could be helpful for homebrew.melancholy wrote:Silver Slim PSP. Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
It's not faster, but it has twice the RAM of the old one (which is supposed to be fore disc caching) that could be useful for larger homebrew programs. However, without the support for 1.5 homebrew, much of the older homebrew out there no longer works on the slim. They say it's relatively easy to change it to slim support, but many older projects have been abandoned so the updates will never happen. But we are talking kexploited software, stuff that was out before custom firmware was even around. 90% of the stuff out nowadays will work just fine on the slim.Luriden wrote:Oh yeah, I forgot about those things. Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
I tried it, and honestly, I was quite depressed by it. I never really liked tactical games, and it felt too much like one. Plus the fact that I felt the characters were way too kiddie now. The plot felt much more like a prequel, since it seemed like everyone in the game acted 10 years younger than they actually are. It was annoying because it felt like all the events in FFXII never happened. I got about 4 hours in, then gave up on it.BlueCrab wrote:Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (DS)

I've always liked tactical games (heck, one of my top games of the 16-bit era was Shining Force 2), and I like it so far. I've only played about 30 minutes of it, but I think its pretty good.melancholy wrote:I tried it, and honestly, I was quite depressed by it. As a side note though, I've never played FFXII.

Though you are missing out on what could be the greatest PS2 game ever created, in your instance not having prior knowledge of FFXII might be to your benefit. Revenant Wings' story just seems stupid after playing it's predecessor.BlueCrab wrote:As a side note though, I've never played FFXII.
