The very fact that you can call Time a "non-traditional outlet" in this context and not sound completely absurd seems like it pretty much vindicates Nintendo's basic idea...pixel wrote:I'm glad Nintendo is going to non-traditional outlets like Time to get the Wii out there.

Yeah, big surprise. They recycled the DualShock design again, and crammed in the latest market gadgetry (wireless and motion sensing). "You've got shoulder buttons? Well, we've got TWO sets! Analog stick? Two. And they *CLICK*. Rumble? Two. Oh, so your triggers are pressure sensitive? Well, EVERY BUTTON is pressure sensitive! Take that, bitch!"
And now this.
No wonder the DualShock is such a convoluted, unergonomic mess.

Pics anyone? This sounds hilarious.
It's also funny how Nintendo said they were holding off announement of the controller because everybody will copy it. And they did.

Also, just a picky fine-arts-student thing: by abandoning all their concepts and going back to the DualShock, the "design aesthetic" (if this ghoulish Frankenstein of a controller can be described that way) of the controller in no way matches the design of the system itself. Like the controller itself, they look like random parts from different things stuck together out of convenience.
