Uh, yeah they did. Doom on SNES has a SuperFX coprocessor on the cartridge. A few years ago I bought a Doom cart to disassemble for exactly that reason.
What exactily were you doing with a SuperFX? :?
It's something to do with an unreleased game with a "2" in the title.

If im not mistaken it had no ending it just stopped after about the middle of episode 2. I guess for the time it was a decent fix for people who couldn't afford a PC (at that time a 486 new was easily 1500 bucks). I don't remember the c prompt, but then agian tis been over 8 years since I played the 32X version.
You don't like any games though Vegita, so can it. The 32x version is miles ahead of SNES, and actually better than the Saturn version too.

I'll pop it in and see if I notice the prompt.

I liked Doom on PC, I am just saying the 32X was a joke. It wasn't even the full game. I might have been better then the SNES version, never played that one. There is no sense in acting that way.
Because it didn't include all the levels its a joke? You want to see a joke? Play the SNES version. Hell, the GBA port was better than the SNES.
Funny thing is that I enjoyed the SNES version far more than the GBA version. I guess it just seemed so amazing at the time, but once the GBA version came out it wasn't all that amazing anymore.

Another weird fact, if I recall correctly: the enemies in 32x don't have all the different sprite angles. You can only view them from the front three angles or the sides. This means you never can look into a room without being immediately attacked.

I have it right, don't I? I've only played that version once..

BTW, the Jaguar Doom was actually a really good port.

The Wolfenstein port was excellent too. And so was Doom 64.

Played both, IMO doom on SNES was pretty poor. Cheaper to get back in teh day than going out to buy a 32x. Only games played on 32X though were doom and knuckles. Doom on 32 doesnt feel rushed at all. Its a great mix of levels.

Here's a first-person shooter in a 16-bit system that is actually worth playing...

Has anyone ever actually SEEN the link cable for Zero Tolerance? I want to get one, but I've never even seen a picture of it...

I heard that the cable was never made because the game was never made, but that they hid a diagram image in the ROM or something. In any case I've seen it (the diagram) floating around on the Internet, and IIRC it's basically the Genny equivalent of a laplink or null-modem cable.

What do you mean the game was never made? I own two copies of it...

Ah, I probably got it confused with the sequel...

the jag version of doom was the best, almost rivaling that of the pc port. problem was mags like egm and others, bashed the heck out of the jag and any games for the console that wasn't tempest (cited by many as the only decent title for the console)
