Sarcasm at its finest.
The people of the land were overjoyed at the gift God gave them, and they rejoiced and praised God, and chanted "DreamSNES rules, DreamSNES rules!"

Wait a sec,did you get the latest April 1st release? It's based on the newest Snes9x Linux build with a new improved sound core and some speed optimizatons. It can now run Chrono Trigger at 99% speed. Truly amazing!
Get it while it's fresh :D

Is the the original SNES emu for the Dreamcast from way way way back in the day, or is this something new? It's been so long I forget. What ever one I used to use had seasonal themes for it's releases and stuff. I recall that much, and the fact that it was near complete...

...and then dead silence. Which is the way with many things Dreamcast it seems. :/

You are correct in assuming this is the same DreamSNES with the seasonal themes. From what I understand, the way the emulator was coded, there would be no way to make it faster on the Dreamcast without a near-complete rewrite... so it just died.

I don't think DreamSNES should have it's own forum.

I think there are other emulators that deserves an exclusive forum more than DreamSNES, like NesterDC. But it doesn't matter much anymore.

The reason why DreamSNES has its own forum is because the DreamSNES team shut down their own forum and moved it here. This is the Official DreamSNES forum. Also, historically, DreamSNES has always been the emulator that attracted the most attention (along with NesterDC). If other emulator authors wished to have an official forum here, I'm sure we could work that out.
It's thinking...

DreamSNES is also how I found this site. Having it there to attract hits and suck up the bit of DreamSNES posts is a fine idea.

DreamSNES was one of the best emulators for the Dreamcast but it's too bad that no new version will come out. But it's already good enough. ;)

Damn, that actually makes a lot of sense. Back in the day *years before I started this topic jokingly* I would anticipate a new release almost monthly. I never did know why they stopped updating it until now. Good deal.
