Painting, windows, fan lights, etc are things you can do without soldering.

1. Get a dremel (easiest way to do it)
2. Draw a window you like
3. Cut out window
4. sand until smooth and nice looking
5. cut some plexiglass to cover window.

I'd recommend practicing cutting on some plastic other then your system if you have never used a dremel before.

It's an all-in-one type of tool. It comes with attachments to cut, and it works really really well.

but why don't you learn how to solder. It's no big deal and a thousend new mods will be available for you.
You only need a soldering iron for about 10$/€ (depends on where you're from

), solder for 2 bucks and some cables. It's really no magic and I think there are many people here in this forum who can help you with technical questions.
And actually my experience is that doing a little led-mod is way simpler than to twiddle out a clean window.

If you don't know how to solder and you don't know what a dremel is I don't suggest you do any modding. You will probably be disappointed with the results.
