Good question! I just upgraded my DSL speed last week, so let's see if they have switched it over yet...
Edit: Looks like they have, but I'm not much faster now than what I was. Before my download speed was 1200, and now it looks like my speed is 1500 My upload speed, however, has more than doubled going from 192 to around 480. Too bad I have no real use for uploading...
Edit #2: I tried a different site with a bandwidth tester, one that had an Indiana server so it would be closer to me. With that test, my DSL hit 1800, which is even better. I guess it just depends on server location. Obviously the closer I get, the better the connection.

Download Speed: 1290 kbps (161.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 165 kbps (20.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
from the Los Angeles, CA server.
My plan advertises as 1500/256 kbps so that's somewhat accurate, it'd probably be better if there were a more local server.
My ISP is rolling out a new network that will offer 24 000/1000 kpbs over ASDL 2+, unfortunatley it will be a while till I'm connected, and it is likely that I will end up with a connection speed of 6000/1000 because of my distance from the phone exchange, but hey, any improvement is better than nothing.
