Good question! I just upgraded my DSL speed last week, so let's see if they have switched it over yet...

Edit: Looks like they have, but I'm not much faster now than what I was. Before my download speed was 1200, and now it looks like my speed is 1500 :( My upload speed, however, has more than doubled going from 192 to around 480. Too bad I have no real use for uploading...

Edit #2: I tried a different site with a bandwidth tester, one that had an Indiana server so it would be closer to me. With that test, my DSL hit 1800, which is even better. I guess it just depends on server location. Obviously the closer I get, the better the connection.

Hahaha, no. I have Optimum Online. 15/2mbit for $49.99/mo. They have a 30/2 service now for like $65 but to hell with that.

You use this for something other than mere surfing, I trust?

EDIT: Using that site my speed is 1272/830 on my 1.5Mbit/1Mbit connection.

Download Speed: 1290 kbps (161.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 165 kbps (20.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
from the Los Angeles, CA server.

My plan advertises as 1500/256 kbps so that's somewhat accurate, it'd probably be better if there were a more local server.

My ISP is rolling out a new network that will offer 24 000/1000 kpbs over ASDL 2+, unfortunatley it will be a while till I'm connected, and it is likely that I will end up with a connection speed of 6000/1000 because of my distance from the phone exchange, but hey, any improvement is better than nothing.

Result from bandwidthplace:
1.7 megabits per second
Communications 1.7 megabits per second
Storage 203.7 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 5 seconds
Subjective rating Great
Result from Speakeasy:
Download Speed: 1606 kbps
Upload Speed: 126 kbps
Those are the results from my office. I'll post the results from my house later tonight (you'll be surprised at how staggeringly slow they will be).
