New Dr Who leaked onto internet

Post by Hawq »

An episode of the new series of sci-fi drama Doctor Who has been leaked onto the internet.
A 45-minute episode, called Rose, has appeared three weeks before the series is expected to begin on BBC One.

Rose is the name of the character played by pop singer Billie Piper, who will be the assistant to the Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston.

It is unclear how it came to be on the web and whether it is the final cut. The BBC was unavailable for comment.

The episode - which appears to be the series' first instalment - begins with the Doctor and Rose being chased by Autons, shop mannequins that have come to life.
Doh! bit of a mistake there perhaps? or is it a marketin trick? knowin the bbc probably a mistake of some sort. Source

Is BBC one a channel in Britain? A subdivison of BBC perhaps?

This is something like what they do in the music business at times.

BBC1 is a terrestrial channel in the U.K one of several BBC channels. :D

Classic :).

I just watched the episode and quite enjoyed it. The story was daft and the special effects were a bit ropey, which is exactly how it should be. I was far more impressed with this series than that one they made a few years ago.

Apparently CBC is showing the entire season of 13 episodes starting the beginning of April, just days after us, so good news for US Doctor Who fans.

Ah. I was thinking of CBS .

CBC is the one getting the show, so at least the Canadians Doctor Who fans are being looked after :P.

Im looking forward to seeing how good this new Doctor Who series is, im glad to hear that the special effects are still ropey it wouldn't be the same without those roper effects that made Dr. Who special.

Damn it!!!!!!!!

Why can't we get the new Dr. Who here in the US. I'm going to have to see if I can find that episode tomorrow while I'm at the office.

I watch the old episodes every week on PBS, and I can't get enough of them. They're currently with the third doctor. IMHO, he was the best anyway.

Man, I remember a math teacher making a Dr Who joke in class and I was the only one who got it. That looks I got when I was the only one laughing, and the awkward silence afterwards was the only thing funnier.

The BBC are apparently looking into it, and seem to be pointing the finger at CBC.
BBC News wrote:"The source of it appears to be connected to our co-production partner," the BBC statement said. The partner is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

A CBC spokesperson said: "We are looking into it. That's all I can say at this point because we don't know exactly what happened. It certainly wasn't done intentionally."

I predict a possible Battlestar Galatica situation where americans are downloadin it from us, actually that might be happening with Captain Scarlet at the moment as well

I don't know what part of the country you're in. Around here, I get Maryland PBS, WV PBS and Virginia PBS. It's only on Maryland PBS (MPT). It's on at midnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning every week.
