MUAHAHAHA!!! (MEMCARD\RUMBLEPACK)
i found the best deal that i've found in weeks. it's a nyko dc hyper pack. translated it's the equivalent of 8 (eight) memory cards plus it has a rumble motor in it. the price you may ask. $7.95 at my local game exchange.
seeing as how one vmu or one rumble pak is that price i think i made a pretty good find.
o and btw the same store is having a sale on dc n64 and orignal playstation. $19.99!

Combination rumble/memory packs are notorious for having errors occur in the saved games.
The issue involves activation of the rumble while the save is taking place -- sometimes it's related to power drain, othertimes is simply a matter of the connection coming slighly loose and damaging the save.
Either way, if you have an important game save, make sure you have a backup.

I've got a Nyko Hyper Pack too that I picked up whilst on holiday in the States in 2001.
Mine's x4 capacity unit with the switch on the top and a button to change the between the 4 'pages'. Whilst I've never had any probs with data loss generally (apart from me changing the modes when it tried to save), I've found it a bit poor in the sense that when left on memory mode the DC doesn't recognise it when the machine starts up so I have to unplug in and replug it in or slide the mode to rumble then back to memory in order for it to be recognised. This is no major deal but can become annoying.
And having a rumble and memory functions that DON'T work at the same time is just stupid as you still need additional memory units if you wish to use the rumble function and save a game.
As Rand stated, I wouldn't recommend swapping between the functions in game as this can cause memory corruptions especially in games that auto save. I have had it happen, but it was my own fault for fiddling with it.
It's also a tight fit trying to get in in the back of an arcade stick as the rumble bit pushes right up onto the stick's lead.
Still for the money it's a good buy. Just be careful.

Hmm, maybe I should lower the price on the 8x Mega Memory Card kits I'm selling. I guess mine do come with PC transfer cables, but 10 bucks might be a little steep.
Need a Treamcast, Dreamcast modchip, HUGE DC memory card, ASCII-like DC fighter pad, or Saturn Gameshark with tons of backup memory? PM me.

We're always looking for more testers -- visit our site, create an account (make sure you fill it out completely) and then send us an EMail that you'd like to test ...
... Basically just follow what's in the "newsletter" on the front page.
Also, put a note in your EMail that it's you -- and use a real EMail account... i.e. no Hotmail, etc.
I don't suppose you speak any other languages, do you ?
Thanks!
Nevets: MEAT! is a full 3D Game / Engine that I've been working on for mobile phones -- Basically, think "FPS (i.e. Quake) on Mobiles" and that's pretty much it.
