#1 game

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

What is the number one game you play on Nester or any other NES emulator?
Mine, McKids (I own the original cartridge so it's legal for me to have the rom of it)

Well, back in the day when I had an NES I have a few that are about at the same level. I'm sure I'd play the following with Nester if I had the carts (alas, long gone):

1. Tecmo football
2. punch out
3. original Contra game
4. MegaMan 1 and 2
5. The version of Gauntlet II put out by mindscape. Was actually a good port (unlike that garbage Tengen put out). Was a blast with multiplayer.
6. Final Fantasy 1

Sorry for not picking just one, but these were all equal back then. Even if I still had the carts, I probably wouldn't go back to them though (well, I am planning to get the Megaman anniversery collection).

I don't know why square/enix left this one out when redoing FF1 and FF2 for the PS. It's the only one that hasn't been released in the US. Is there something about the story line (not that I know what it is since I don't read Japanese) that would tick some American gamers off?

Super Mario Bros. I can get all the way to that level where that orange thing on the cloud starts dropping shells onto you without losing a life and I tend to do badly from there onwards.

scherzo, i always wanted to get a flash cart for GBA, but they always seemed too expensive.. how much did you pay for yours?

now that they've confirmed that the DS backward compatibility won't go past the GBA, i'm even more inclined to get one (so i can emulate mono GB games), but i'm waiting for the report that they'll actually work.

There are midgets... that's about it. Haha. The game is actually a lot of fun and should be released.

I got my gba flash card when they were fairly new. It's a FlashAdvance 64Mb, and I think I paid around $150 for it. Now, that price will get you a 512Mb Flash2Advance Ultra. I've been wanting to get a new one for a while but I can't justify it to my wife right now. But when I do, I'll probably get it from Go Cyber Shop, here:

They seem to have good deals.

I tell you though. Having PocketNES is a dream come true. Portable NES! It's the shjt! Compatibility is very good and nearly all games are full speed. Loopy is the man.
