I was largely just trying to plan for future investment... of course I know the minute I buy a 40GB, they'll release a 60 or an 80 for the same price...

I got a friend who bought a broken 1 off ebay for 70 bucks it had the ! on the screen and it would not stay on he brought it here plugged it into my mac and it fixed it so look around ebay for ipods with problems if you have a mac you can easily fix any disc error

Sloppy, perhaps, but its the standard, its a recurrent theme in history, my favorite examples are VHS beating Beta, and of course, Micro$oft/PC beating Mac.

LD still has better video quality than DVD, but DVD sound is so much better.

Yeah I got a 20GB iPod back 2 months ago for Christmas, it totally rocks. I think I have about 1400 songs on it now and PLENTY of room left. I've been encoding everything in 128 kbps AAC and it sounds just fine in my opinion. (If I remember correctly Apple claims that a 128 AAC is about the quality of a 160 MP3)

Oh and DirtySanchez, I second your flight comment. My familty will be taking a 3 hour flight to Florida this summer and I am going to be enjoying myself quite nicely with a iPod in my lab and a GBA SP in my hands

I had trouble getting in the air port with ipod on a flight from richmond to dc I guess terrorist use this thing as some kind of weapon they kept asking me questions about what it was and why did i have it and on and on

I remember a few years ago I had to fly somewhere for my old job. They were making me push buttons on my pager, my cell phone, everything electronic. And this was pre-9/11. So, they were probably just being cautious. Better to piss you off than let some dude smuggle something dangerous onto a flight.

airport security now checks anything electronic that they've seen go through the conveyer belt more then once or something now... when i went to see my dad they checked my external hdd because someone had one on an earlier flight...
