1 dreamcast
2 ps1
3 saturn

All had great games And i think are the best. Ps1 bashing is rather odd It still has great games Star ocean 2 on the ps1 is not boring and is pretty good RPG. Many others but im playing star ocean 2 on a ps1 and i cant knock it since it's being played more then my ps2 and dreamcast. How about the many wrestling games on the ps1 that still today are much more fun then some of the new ones.

Saturn i loved sega rally and daytona with it's wierd music and annoying pop up. And of course shining force 3 and D.

Dreamcast on the other hand i like for programing and what it lets you do. But i dont think it had better games on the whole then the ps1 every one is keen to bash remember Sony only started making the ps1 due to nintendo wanting a cd drive for the snes.

Other then that I cant list 8 bit machines since all the one's i listed could emulate them and make games as good or perfectly look like them.
Dreamcast forever!!!

Just because it was going to be a SNES add-on doesn't make the games any better. FF7 Sucked, FF8 sucked BIG time, Lunar Silver Star Story Complete complete crap when compared to the SegaCD version, Metal Gear Solid hey they did something right wow!

Yeah most people disagree with me, but I don't care they won't change my opinion. I've heard I may like FF9 as it seems more related to Final Fantasy's roots... might have to try it. Now granted there are a lot more games and probably plenty of good ones, but those listed were ones I was most interested in, needless to say I was very disappointed and am very glad I never bought the crappy system.

Huh? :o All it had was Mario?? What about the Ninja Gaiden games, the Castlevania games, the TMNT games, Blaster Master, Double Dragon 2 and 3, Bionic Commando, Metroid, Contra, Super C, and River City Ransom?? Not to say the Master System wasn't good, but it's library of games wasn't nearly as good as the NES's IMO. And my top three fav systems...
And the Megaman games!

FF7 sucked ? Tell me how I think you need to play them and finsh some of them. I cant say they sucked at all. It Was not a crappy system Has a lot of good points. Games like metal gear and Gt1 and Gt2 are still great and the list is so long of other good RPG's and games on the ps1 that are great and fun. Over 900+ games And New games are still sold and being made for it. I was never unhappy with it Even the nes emu for it shows it's quiet a good system shows what can be done on it imbnes is pretty good when you think how underpowered the ps1 is compaired to the dreamcast.

Plus it had a great vcd player card that still is pretty good. I think it had the best light gun games like point blank and time crisis and others.

It's Not crappy at all. The Sega CD version Are said to be better i own them and I dont see it Sega cd has a feel about it that almost makes any game feel fun. Sound is better on the sega CD it has great sound i think better then most machine even now.

hmm one of the best for fun cheap gaming even still.

I don't know how people can call PS1 a crappy system, in the same way it amazes me that people call the NES crappy. They both have such enourmous libraries I can't believe some people can't find at least a handful of games they really like for it.

Cheaply made badly designed hardware that breaks down far too easily.

Anyone have to turn their PSX on its side just to play games? Yup...

I've said this before and I'll say it again, TO ME the game plays more like a freakin porno. By that I mean it has a lot of action (mainly watching the freakin hour long animations for the damn summons and such), however I found the Storyline to be completely boring and often times excessively cliche. All in all the game did not entertain me enough to bother finishing it. If I can't find any fun in the first 2-5 hours of play I don't feel it's worth anymore of my time, that's not to say it couldn't get better, but I still feel it isn't worth my time. Not to mention the game got a little too futuristic and that just wasn't what I was looking for in the game.

Um... I'm not sure what your point is in this statement as it sounds like your comparing the Sega CD to itself...

Here are some reasons Why I enjoyed the SegaCD version better
1) I found it more challenging
2) Luna stayed behind instead of crossing the ocean to Meribia (I felt that her staying behind flowed with the story better)
3) Ghaleon was never portraited as a feeble old man. (you never see him outside his robe)
4)The cutscene in the Playstation version when it shows why Ghaleon hates the Goddess (I felt this ruined the story, as it is a very corny/stupid reason to hate her)
5)The ending (Tacking on the goddess tower as the final dungeon was rather stupid in my opinion, and once again ruined the experience.)

Asside from it's technical flaws as Wily pointed out, the reason I dislike it the most is that the games I was really wanting disappointed me. As I said it probably does have several great games, but out of the ones I wanted most one game had what it takes. That's it 1 whole game.

1 Game is better then None i doubt any one has played 900 plus ps1 games. I got 5 years out of my first ps1 with out a problem never had to turn it on it's side or any thing. I think To many Cdrs might be the problem. Some were faulty When you got a good one it was good.

But i doubt you played 900+ games to find out only 1 is good. I own almost 400 games And half ive never played.

I repeat: out of the games I wanted the most I found 1 enjoyable, as I said that does not mean there aren't any other good games but I'm not about to sit down and try 900+ games just to find a "Handful" that I enjoy. I've only played about 25 games for the Playstation, most of those games I either didn't care for or was disappointed in. Not to mention Bleemcast lets me enjoy the one game I did like.

No I never used a single CDR on any of the 3 PSXs I owned; they all broke, and they all broke in exactly the same way.

First disks would stutter in game, occasionally rebooting the PSX.

Next the PSX would refuse to load disks at all unless the PSX was turned sideways

Finally the PSX would refuse to load games at all unless the PSX was actually upside down or at an 'upside down' angle of 45 degrees.

A couple of months after reaching the above condition they would just die a final death and only be good for parts.

Also every PSX I ever owned began to go wrong at about 18 months after purchase, so they were no longer warrantied.
Why did I buy 3 versions of a machine I clearly considered to be shoddily manufactured? Because the games I owned cost more than a new machine did. I think you'll find the huge number of PSXs sold is entirely down to the vast majority of owners having to buy more than one in order to use the games they had purchased.

Thanks to emulation I no longer have to buy extremely poorly manufactured electronics to play my games. The sad thing is, Sony have a reputation for quality enginerring in every field EXCEPT their consoles.

EDIT: also, for comparative interest, the following consoles I own are still in perfect working order:
NES
GBrick
GBC
GC
Vectrex
SMS
Game Gear
Megadrive
Saturn
Xbox
DreamCast
Lynx
PC Engine GT
The older handhelds (especially my GBrick) have scratches on screen, but the only consoles I have had that died on me other than the playstation were a NES because I left it paused in Castlevania for over 2 months (I was young  ) and my SNES because my little brother pulled a game out of the cartridge adapter while the machine was still on blowing the internal fuse.

Both my replacement SNES and NES are still in perfect working order, my SNES being ~10 years old now, my NES ~15.

Wow, I would never buy three $800 systems because they were faulty, especially considering the fact that the PSX was only released two months ago .

That just goes to show you how crappy the components are that Sony is using in their products these days!
