This is the swareware version of quake. The source has been released.
Doom DC has a cdi version with the shareware wad file in it.
So why cant someone make a cdi with for quakeDC and have the pak file in it?
If ther eis one by now, can someone tell me where to download it?

Well, a shareware .cdi file is alright but using the full version pak file is NOT. I
have no experience in creating .cdi files or else I'd do it myself (With the shareware files...)
And why there isn't a .cdi file? I do not know! Maybe TheDumbAss will create one or Ajay.
Don't look at me, I'm just a Quake C Programmer!

Unfortunately, it seems we are unable to legally post a selfbooting CDI Version of the Quake shareware because its actually modifying the files and distributing them modified.
However, I believe Schnapple and/or Thedumbass are looking further into it, to see if we can do it.
Apoligies for the fact that there are no shareware CDI's out there now.

I use the boot cd myself... It saves me a ton of discs.
Snapple has PMed me the responses he's gotten so far from Id. All I can say right now is... it doesnt look good. Its actually possible the DoomDC and Wolf shareware cdi's will need to be removed from distribution.
The guy at Id all but refused to give a straight answer... instead he's punted the subject over to the CEO of Id Software (Todd Hollenshead). Snapple has not yet heard Todd's final word.
