Theres a fine line between a comment and flaming, i could have said "why dont you shut the hell up and play the dam game" but serisouly, the devvers are doing what they can with DreamSNES, seeing as how that have other things to do, like live their lives. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Dreamsnes full speed?
Unfortunatly, it won't speed anything up. What full-screen off does is put the emulated SNES into it's natural perspective ratio while being emulated. By hitting full-screen, it stretches it through the TA making it slower. Shrinking the screen would either have NO effect, or slow it down even more.evangeilion wrote: Most emulators increase speed with the window minimized so, why not
make the next release of the dsnes with the option of minimizing the window to a greater extent. I would expect a 100 percent speed with sound off of course...

That does make sense, pitty about it though, it;d be great if it was that simple!
The key to speeding up the emulators really is refining the code and reducing its size but unfortunatly that can be a very hard job which is why the first few releases of an emulator happen in quick succession then they start to take longer (DreamSnes is a good example).
Its not because the programmers are lazy, it's because they have lives to live (making emulators is only a small part of their lives) and as time goes on they find it much harder to refine and improve the code.

Well, as everyone knows the biggest 'hit' on DreamSNES's performance is the sound emulation, which logically would be best going through the DC's ARM processor; and from the WIP the DreamSNES team posted, they seem to have been trying to do this, as leaving the SH4 to deal with code and graphics would be *much* faster, but they also say they haven't had much luck with it.
I'm still hoping for a considerable speed increase in the next release though![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
