just discovered this site. I guess here are the experts.
How ornate would it be to create a oldfashiond rpg like on the psx?
This LOOK & FEEL - the good old times:
We talk about prerendered backgrounds, figures with not so much polygones, roundbased battles etc.
Not that massive like a final fantasy. But with a few hours of fun. Exactly that the projct not gets to wasteful
Hope for some answers and maybee some hobby developers/3d-artists who are passionate to create somethin in that style

In my real Jobs i workins a a project manager.
So i would bring the pieces together.
I think i got a good taste for rpgs and would create story and concept.
Also creation of the Cover art etc

Raw concept in my head about an oldfashioned jrpg with part-prerendered backgrounds, possibility to catch and grown monsters. Battles,
Anime Styles, Videosequences etc.
What i am doing here is to check out possibilities. Before i force this project and it ends up as one of the unfullfilled games.

So you want a rpg game and only be the manager of the project with no concepts or anything but 3D screenshots.
Take a look at Elysian Shadows eternal development as an example, if you have a dream game try making it as far as you can without anyone else and when you have some to show then ask for help.
3D rendering, spriting, sound edit, compile code; those are the most hard work to do.
story telling, concept art; these are medium complex but more feasible.
Managing and supervising the project is the laziest thing, as everyone else is doing the job for you.
As a leader you need to put the example and know everything you are asking.
As a boss you only have to wait until the job is done and take all the credit.
