DC PSO v1, no serial number

Sylverant is a homebrew open source server for Phantasy Star Online. Dreamcast users still play PSO online with this server even today! This is the official forum for both the online game server as well as the open source project itself. Feel free to post and get a gathering started online! We can also show you how to get connected!

If that's the case, PM me with proof that you have the SN/AK (a photo of the sticker/page with it on there is sufficient), and I'll de-register it from whoever registered it previously.

That said, the chances of that are somewhat small, all in all. In fact, I think it's only happened once so far since I have run this server.

It's hard to purchase here in Europe the v2/NTSC-U at a fair price.

Often it is unclear whether the SNAK is there.

Can I play also with a JAP SNAK and a US GD???

You need to have the same region game and serial number/access key. If you're using a Japanese SN/AK, you need a Japanese GD-ROM.

OK, thanks.

I can not currently find a complete V2 NTSC-U with SNAK at a fair price. That is really a shame. :(

For a game which was officially discontinued years ago and can only be played with additional effort on private servers...!!!

There is almost no market anymore... But prices are very high... Wow!

I thought it was possible to create a new SNAK for Dreamcast? There's an option for that in the Manage Guildcards page, but I guess you're right. I recall someone tried to make a new SNAK for Dreamcast and it wouldn't accept it.

There's not an option to generate one for DC. You have the option to associate an existing guild card with an account (for if you go online before registering) or to register a new guild card with an account (for if you haven't gone online before registering).

Only PSOPC has an option to generate a key.

I've found a v2 NTSC-U!

Can someone give me a tip, how to delete the flash correctly?

If you have a blank CR-r, you can burn the .cdi file in this download to that disc and run it on the Dreamcast. (assuming your Dreamcast can read burnt discs)

The alternative would be to track down PlanetWeb 1.0 and hold B+X upon start-up.

According to the webpage a lot of blocks are needed. Is there one vmu to play enough?

The only two files you need on your memory card normally are the main data and the guild card files (so, 45 blocks worth). The screenshot files are pretty much useless and you don't need to worry about them...

If you want to save all of the online quests, then you'll probably need multiple memory cards to do that.

I register the SNAK under "Manage Your Guildcards" and in PSO itself. For what is "Create Login Token"? Not important for DC?

The only purpose of the login tokens is if you don't want to transmit your username and password with the /login command in game, because PSO uses weak encryption, so somebody could potentially sniff your connection and get your login credentials if you send them in a chat packet (although it is quite unlikely to happen).

Thanks again, I'm online! Currently I use the patcher disc and the original GD.

I have read that there is a patched disc. Can I use them or are there disadvantages?

The only disadvantage is that the region of the disc must match the region of your serials in order for you to enter your serials the first time you bring a character online. After a character has been online one time, you can play that character online with a disc of any region, including a CD-R with fast loading.

Is there a CD-R PSOv2 that is recommended for Sylverant?

No, because we don't support pirating games here.

You will likely find some that many people use if you look, but they cannot be linked to from here and none of them are "recommended" by the administration of the server (read: me).

Sorry. Then I misunderstood the list of legitimate client modifications:
Aleron Ives' Enhancement Pack (for PSODC and PSOPC) -- so long as you pass the legit check.
I wanted to optimize only the load times and the disc drive a little relieve.
