Out of nostalgia really, it would be kinda nice to hear it coming from a DC modem. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks.
Plus I've got two modems:
Pal model HKT-7140
Jap model HKT-7100
Anyone know if these are 56k or 33k?
How to connect a speaker to a DC modem?

Re: How to connect a speaker to a DC modem?
I believe they're 56k. Modems always stopped playing the sound from the speaker once the connection was established. I don't know if the DC's modems have all the hardware for connecting a speaker to it. Might be easier just splitting the phone line and picking up a handset and muting the microphone.dymeh wrote:Out of nostalgia really, it would be kinda nice to hear it coming from a DC modem. Ah, so the 56K modems were mostly available in North America.T_chan wrote:http://users.skynet.be/t_chan/dc/dc_modems.xhtml

The list at this point is not exhaustive, it's mainly based on modems I got my hands on,DanteJay wrote:Ah, so the 56K modems were mostly available in North America.
so you can't make such conclusions at this point.
(I only had a few US/Canada dreamcasts compared to a lot of japanese ones & a few PAL ones)

Thanks for that. Turns out the 4 modems I do have are all 33k.T_chan wrote:http://users.skynet.be/t_chan/dc/dc_modems.xhtml
