PSO ver.2 Dreamcast

Sylverant is a homebrew open source server for Phantasy Star Online. Dreamcast users still play PSO online with this server even today! This is the official forum for both the online game server as well as the open source project itself. Feel free to post and get a gathering started online! We can also show you how to get connected!

PSO ver.2 Dreamcast

Post by scotty431 »

Hi, im a born again PSO player. Just re-bought a dreamcast and PSO and I'm up and running again.

Looking to play regularly, if theres any of you still playing please let me know when and times and ill be online.

Im connecting through the phone line as no bba so would also like to know who your ISP is as I need to look into it as I'm currently getting spanked by virgin at like 10p a minute I think! So let me know what you all do to play and when!

See you soon hopefully

Welcome to the server. It's always nice to have new faces around. Hopefully you can find some people to play with.

Instead of using a real ISP, if you have a PC laying around with a 56k modem (or can get one cheaply), then you might look into setting up a so-called PC-DC server for connecting with. Many users tend to connect that way, as it's pretty much the cheapest way to get set up.

Thanks for the welcome! I can get 56k modem on ebay for pennies so got no probe ordering one up.

Can I set it up with a mac or will it not work? I have an old PC in the loft I can get down if not!

Well, if the modem works under OS X, you probably would be able to set it up on there. I've never tried myself, so I couldn't say for sure. Most people tend to use Linux on a PC to do it these days though, I think (often in a VM).

Would the original poster consider v1 players? I have a Lv 17-18 RAmar I am trying to level up yet trying to stay awake with the pending level grind. I suppose I can logon weekdays around 2:00PM PST/@958 for an hour or two - on weekends around 7:00PM PST/@166.

I am connecting with a external dial-up modem and a Linux server on the virtual machine. I wish more people to play in Sylverant. In SCHTServ they hack us. I do not like playing there.

Saturday and Sunday evenings (Eastern Standard Time) seem to be the busiest times around the server. There's actually a weekly gathering around 5PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturday where there will usually be quite a few people around.

Gee... That probably would have been somewhat useful when I did that by hand myself for the codes listed on the Sylverant page...

That said, my codes actually go by URL, not IP address... so maybe it wouldn't have been that useful.
