Rendering images

Post by RyoDC »

I thought on days, is there any way to render realistic (in some ways, not 100% similarity of course) images NOT using such resource capacious technics like ray- or pathtracing?
It would be good, I thought, to implement some of these in some project for Dreamcast.
How do I try to build a Dreamcast toolchain:

Considering real-time raytracing on PCs is just now becoming feasible (with faster processors and fully-programmable video cards), don't count on anything anywhere near real time on the Dreamcast.
