Nice to see FF12 getting some love. I admit, my attempted replays have been killed by the long-ass introduction, but everything beyond that is amazing. I pumped the hours in and really enjoyed the huge MMO-style world coupled with a single-player RPG experience (I wish there were more games like this). What amazed me most was getting up to the final boss then checking the map and realising there weren't just unexplored caves and dungeons left...but entire zones.

If that's not enough, at the very least it's nice to have a Final Fantasy game untouched by Tetsuya Nomura.

You should. I was playing it all the way up until an hour before I went out and bought:

Catherine Love is Over Deluxe Edition (PS3) - $60

And now my journey through Ivalice has been put on hiatus.

I sank thousands of hours into FFXI, so that open-world, free-roaming MMO combat of FF12 just fucking sang to me... Godamnit.

Well, I found my FF12 Collector's Edition... now I just need to find my PS2.

Catherine (PS3)

It looks like I'm going to be replaying FFXII after I'm done with Catherine. I think the last time I played it I just tried to rush and didn't do anything other then the main story, so I look forward to doing all the extra stuff this time.

Bought Gran Turismo 5... didn't buy the wheel and pedals. Is this game possible without that, or do I suck that badly? I was doing alright on the first handful of licenses, and then I hit one where it was completely impossible for me to get a Silver. Don't think I feel like investing $100+ into a wheel for a genre I'm really not that into. Guessing I'm going to return it tomorrow.

I actually bought a wheel for the game and I felt that it made me worse at the game. I didn't mind GT5, but I didn't enjoy it enough to justify the $60 I paid for the Collector's Edition, so I sold it at a $30 profit and plan to pick it up again someday went it becomes a Greatest Hit.

Anyway, I bought No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise while it was still on sale for $30 at Best Buy. I loved it on the Wii and I can't wait to play a HD version.

So, I shelled out the $130 for the Logitech wheel. Holy fuck. I am in love. This game is amazing.

In theory I should have Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the Augmented PC version, but Best Buy's preorder system is stupid and a waste of time, so I have to wait til tomorrow. Annoying. I'm working there part time right now, and they say they want to take out GameStop. Not happening with the way the priorities are right now, at least I don't think so.

Not *exactly* a game, but here's The Protomen: Act I. It's a rock opera loosely based on the Mega Man games for NES.

The Protomen played here in San Francisco last night, and we picked this up at the show.

Also, pre-ordered Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic on Origin a few weeks ago. Also, Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Gears of War 3

Got it yesterday, finished the campaign today. Hands-down, the best third-person shooter ever made, despite its shitty DLC marketing. It outshines the original, and outdoes the second game in every possible way (not hard to do, second game was bleh and broken). The campaign was exciting all the way through (which I can't say for either of the first two, despite the first game being a favorite of mine) and I was sad to see it end, and the multiplayer combines the best elements of the first two games along with dedicated servers, new modes, and a shitload of unlockables. If you liked either of the first two games even a tiny bit, buy this game.

Saw you playing it today. Was going to ask if it was vastly different than the other two. Decided to watch a review instead, and it looks exactly the same. Waste 50 bullets killing an alien, go to chest high wall. Waste another 50 bullets on one alien, next chest high wall.

Can't stand Gears of War.

You going to be picking up Battlefield, Luriden?

That's every shooter in the last 10 years, and the decade before that just didn't have the chest high walls. Not sure what you're complaining about.

No. I played a demo of the last Battlefield game and it felt identical to CoD in every way. I can't stand CoD.

At this point, there's no other games even announced that I'm looking forward to, so I guess Gears of War 3 and Rock Band 3 will be my two weapons of choice for awhile unless a new franchise comes along next year that takes me by surprise. I can do without Skyrim or anything Halo related until they hit under the $20 range.

Crystalis, Metroid, and Rescue Rangers for NES. Bought from DanteJay's sale thread.

Apparently the cat is enthralled by Rescue Rangers, as she tried attacking the screen multiple times.
