I was about to make a snarky comment about how many times we've heard this one before... but hot damn does that actually look like a real Sonic game.

I liked whatever the last one was, but it was held back by poor level design. They really need to fix that.

I'll pick this up.

Also, Tenderoni and Sonic = win.

Sonic died after sonic 3 on the genesis. I havent like any that followed. and I consider myself a big fan of both the games and the old sonic satam cartoons.

So you play the actual game as Classic Sonic, and then some interactive cutscenes featuring Modern Sonic? Sorry, I haven't played any of the newer Sonic games so I wouldn't know if there's more to the "modern" gameplay than what I see on that one minute clip.

I hate the boost based Unleashed segments, I think the best version is still Adventure.

Green Hill Zone Adventure 2 for the win, both of these versions can't compare to that build.

My impressions from other viewings of this one left me thinking that you can play every level from either 2D perspective or 3D perspective.

It looks kinda boring with just Sonic in though. They should add a handful of friends with different abilities.

Good idea right there. What if there were some exploration levels, like where you have to search for treasure? You know, like a scavenger hunt? That would be boss.

Everyone loves fishing. Put some of that into the game, as well.

Nothing screams "speed" and "Sonic the Hedgehog" like fishing. While we're at it, let's stick Sonic in a car, and give him an expansive overworld with a detailed story acted out between different points on the map. The story is always the strongest part of a Sonic game, plus it'll help break up the levels to keep the game from getting too repetitive.

I'll wait before getting excited, just like sonic4. Sonic 4 was a step in the right direction, but the physics were garbage, lazy level design and was more of "sonic 2 remix." Sega did make a post saying they fixed at least the issue with sonic dropping straight down if you stopped holding right while in the air for this sonic generations game.

I wont let myself be burned on a sonic game. Sonic colors looks alright, though I tried the DS one and hated it. Since I don't have a Wii, I'll have to wait until I get a better computer to try it out.

I don't see the point of actually pointing out the difference between the look of sonic. Characters evolve in their looks. Nintendo didn't need to make Mario look like the NES sprite to make new and good mario games. Sega is just doing this to appeal to sonic elitist fanboys with a boner for what had a once great series of games. I have a friend who is way too much into sonic...... and he jumps up and down like a little girl everytime they do something that is slightly like the old games, even though the new game is shitty all around.

And on that topic, another mega64 video about sonic.

You know what's the most depressing about this whole thing? I'm excited that they fixed that. They fixed a problem that was never a problem on their 20 year old game, and should never have been a problem in the first place.

This Sonic trailer looks just as good as any other trailer, but we all know Sega's going to screw this up. They are bound to do something completely stupid that kills the game and pisses everyone off.

I'm with mel. The first trailer is always great. It's all part of the cycle. Even if they get everything right it'll probably be 2 hours long or something.
