Thats cool, but I know we will never see it ported to DC.

RTCW is powered by a heavily-modified version of the Quake III: Team Arena engine.

Read this thread about porting Quake III to DC:
viewtopic.php?f=45&t=99284

I know you know about the planned remake http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showth ... p?t=113651.
I contacted chui and joined on to help develop, but I was disappointed with the progress on the engine at the time, and we never really did much with it.

The only minute possibility is some serious modders getting RTCW maps to run on the Retail QIII:Arena DC like those guys did with Counter-Strike DC.

I'd note that the source code only means the engine, not the graphics, not the maps, or any of the other actual game data files are allowed to be used.

People often confuse source code releases with the assumption the entire game, instead of just the engine source, is allowed to be used...

The article linked in the OP no longer has working links (they go to definitions of the linked word, not the link itself). So folks should use this one instead.
