XBLA: Earthworm Jim HD and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum
It's a good week for Xbox Live Arcade. Remastered versions of Earthworm Jim and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum - both are 10 bucks! Nice to see them priced this way when most releases are at 15 these days.

Hmm, I've played the PS2 version of NGBC and the new version seems to be better - proper widescreen ratio and hi-res artwork. I may be wrong, but I don't think so.

I played through about half of EWJ, though I would wager that this remake is based on the Sega CD version, since there are a few added levels that were not in the Genesis version that I grew up with. It's kinda amazing that after all these years I still remember exactly where many of the secret item caches are located. The only thing I don't like about the remake is the updated music. I mean, it did need updated, but it just sounds...I don't know, generic I guess.

EWJ is just as aggravating as I remembered it... which is why I only remember the first two levels, I usually lost interest after that. As I do still.
Here's to hoping EWJ2 receives the same treatment though. I played the crap out of that game.

I'm blowing through it on Original. I haven't tried normal yet, but I imagine I would probably walk through the game on that mode.

I have been playing through it on original, though I got stuck the other day on the peter puppy level and haven't tried it again yet. Luriden is doing bad at the game on easy due to there not being flying note highways to tell him musically when to push the jump button. lol
Regardless I am loving the game, but the music does seem different, and the lack of the original voice actor makes for inconsistent sounds for when jim does/gets something.

Little known fact; the original voice actor was actually creator Doug TenNapel.Nico0020 wrote:Regardless I am loving the game, but the music does seem different, and the lack of the original voice actor makes for inconsistent sounds for when jim does/gets something.
