Re: DreamShell 4
DreamShell 4.0.0 Beta 3 is out!
Module VC/DC is bad, sorry, I do not know why and did not manage to resolve this issue prior to Beta 3. Can OneThirty8 help and make a VC / DC module (you need to remove unused code).
But there is good news, such as the launch of ISO from SD Card

ISO 9660
1ST_READ.BIN be unscrambled.
Do not expect much from sdiso, this experimental version.

ISO 9660, interesting choice because its not normal "selfboot" structure.SWAT wrote:ISO 9660

Existing images will need to be modified specifically for this?
So, if I make an iso with mkisofs, it would usually look like this:
Code: Select all
mkisofs -R -G IP.BIN -C @MSINFO.TXT -V %gamename% -l -o data.iso data
I will make some tests with some unscrabmled binaries...
Any possibility this could ever launch katana binaries?

Re: DreamShell 4
Awesome this just keeps getting better, maybe the bst thing to do here would be to support CDI image file in the future.
Is there any feature you would want us to test specifically swat?
Great job by the way...

CDI's advantages as a format are only really relevant to burning things on CD-R.Neoblast wrote:Awesome this just keeps getting better, maybe the bst thing to do here would be to support CDI image file in the future.

ISO 9660 more light and easy to use.OVERRiDE_DC wrote: ISO 9660, interesting choice because its not normal "selfboot" structure.

Exiting images not need modified.
IP.BIN and @MSINFO.TXT not neededOVERRiDE_DC wrote: So, if I make an iso with mkisofs, it would usually look like this:But, to launch iso from DreamShell does "-C @MSINFO" still need to be used? What about IP.BIN?Code: Select all

Code: Select all
mkisofs -V %gamename% -joliet -rock -l -o game.iso ./gamedir
Try it, i'm not tested.OVERRiDE_DC wrote: Any possibility this could ever launch katana binaries?

tovarich, dreamshell is getting better and better. Keep up the good work!!!
Can existing homebrew be integrated into dreamshell? (like launch an emulator/game and then exit back to dreamshell)

Re: DreamShell 4
You need to compile your game or application as a module for DreamShell, then you can run and exit it as long as you want.Guaripolo wrote:tovarich, dreamshell is getting better and better. Keep up the good work!!!

For the beauty and convenience, you can make it as an applications.
Re: DreamShell 4
it gets better and better... nice to see the dreamcast homebrew scene still so alive!

Does not work here… The green loading screen appears, tries to load the 1ST_READ.BIN, then the console reboots.SWAT wrote:Code: Select all
mkisofs -V %gamename% -joliet -rock -l -o game.iso ./gamedir
I do have the latest sdiso file. It fails with either 1ST_READ.BIN scrambled or unscrambled.
Am I doing something wrong ?

You use the latest version of the module sdiso? http://www.dc-swat.net.ru/news/15/
Older versions were with bugs.

Re: DreamShell 4
Ok, I didn't have the latest sdiso in fact
It works now. Damn, that's fast !
By the way, could it be possible to map the GD-Rom to a directory on the SD card, instead of an iso image ?
It would be way easier to add files this way.

This is not easy to implement, much easier to use ISO.Ayla wrote: By the way, could it be possible to map the GD-Rom to a directory on the SD card, instead of an iso image ?

Besides, I'm quite short of memory.
