NesterDC woes.
Just to be transparent, I also posted this on another site. Not intending to spam, only to expidate a timely solution. ;')
I have a friend active in NES homebrew. I'd really like the chance to play his games on a CRT, and my best bet given the hardware I have is the good ol' Dreamcast. However, I'm having TONS of trouble with NesterDC.
The CE versions make a disc, but doesn't acknowledge the games. 3.0 lists some games, but only maybe 3 and the menu is incomprehensible gibberish. 7.0 lets me see some of the names, but again, only 3 or so in a very messed up menu. Also, the aspect ratio is really messed up.
Is anyone able to help? I'm so frustrated! I've made many, many coasters.
Oh, and I've tried using a boot disc then swapping in a disc of the roms, but the DC doesn't acknowledge the roms disc. =/

Re: NesterDC woes.
I'd recommend Nester DC v6.0 for now. It's a pretty solid emulator and the GUI is fully themeable.

Re: NesterDC woes.
The problem with SE is that it tries to look up all the games in a central database to provide game information and cover art, which is nifty if you're playing the classics but not so useful if you're doing ROM hacks or homebrew titles (as it sounds like you are). If you're using SE, make sure to grab the 1.1 version to access the ROMs on the disc, rather than just the info pulled from the database.

Uploaded the files to our server and updated the links to reflect it.Christuserloeser wrote:v1.1 is pretty much lost atm, the server is offline and I don't have any backups :-/
(this is why we shouldn't externally link! )
It's thinking...

Great! Thanks! I'll have a look into adding the screenshots back into that thread and to our Wiki article.
