Copying PSO-PC save games

Sylverant is a homebrew open source server for Phantasy Star Online. Dreamcast users still play PSO online with this server even today! This is the official forum for both the online game server as well as the open source project itself. Feel free to post and get a gathering started online! We can also show you how to get connected!

Copying PSO-PC save games

Post by Maturion »

I have a copy of PSO-PC I sometimes used to play PSO. I want to copy that to another PC now. I tried just copying PSO's backup folder, however that didn't work, PSO said the save games were "broken". So what do I have to do to transfer my save games to another PC? Maybe modify the registry?

Recently I changed my OS, and had the same situation. Well, you can start online mode, type /save 1.. and server will save your backup data. To load your data, type /restore 1. But I don't know, is it the right method. It just works for me.

P.S. All bank items will disappear.

Thanks for the hint. I'll do what you told me and try if it worked.

Don't use the server commands, since they can't save everything. On the new computer, you need to use the autorun to enter the same serial number, access key, and e-mail address as you did on the old computer. After that, create a new character and take it online (since you're already in online mode). Quit in the lobby, then exit PSO. Replace the Backup folder on the new computer with the folder from the old one, and your old characters will no longer register as damaged.
