Weird PSO bug (not server related)

Has anyone ever had an issue where certain techniques wouldn't target. I was trying to cast Rafoie and the targeting thingy would show the thing i am trying to hit but when I cast it I would lose TP and nothing else would happen. I turned the game off, gave the disc a quick clean and that seemed to fix it. Has anyone else ever run into this issue?

I've seen strange things happen related to the Dreamcast overheating, such as menus behaving incorrectly and various effects being invisible, yes.

I wanted to see if it was an issue like using a boot disk and not being able to target other players for casting resta and stuff but I was the only one online

Well, if you were using Utopia or v1.0 of my PSO Patcher, then yes it might well have been how you were booting the game. They're known for doing odd things like that.

I have a mod chipped US dreamcast playing an official pal copy of psov2. It was just a dirty disc.
