PSO Questions & Answers

Sylverant is a homebrew open source server for Phantasy Star Online. Dreamcast users still play PSO online with this server even today! This is the official forum for both the online game server as well as the open source project itself. Feel free to post and get a gathering started online! We can also show you how to get connected!

Meaning the rules on the server may no longer be adequate for all types of players, that will make me resign from the GM position and leave the server as i no longer like the rules i have to respect and enforce upon other players.

As for the server sided drops, i'm guessing there won't be anything new, it's simply a server sided drop system that is similar to the client drops. I'm guessing bluecrab just got to the "shields and armors" part.

???????????????????????????????? shilds the same psobb shields will be used in psov2?
if the answer is yes (congratulations innovation and a much XD)
I was working on a server-side drop system, similar to what is required for PSOBB. In fact, its basically just prototyping for PSOBB...

I am not adding anything new to PSOv2, nor do I particularly have any reason to do so. The only things that would drop from it would be the same things that the game itself normally drops.

I know I have the right to get involved in this matter but...
even if it goes will be a great loss to this server.

I'm glad that the server rules are finally up. This should make some players stop telling me in Altimira, to stop using legitly upgraded weps.

Kireek, don't be a knuckle-head, take it easy. 8-)

Um.. today i joined a normal room, in Vega ship. And there was a player with black nickname, and level something like 52352~.

Should i report him, or not? He left, soon after i joined.

P.S. I am asking it because it's hard for me to understand the new rules. My english is not so good. And i am a little confuzed.

Was the team in legit mode? If so, then yes, that's a reportable offense, as hacking your name colour isn't something that the legit checker detects right now.

You can check the status of a team by pressing X twice on its name at the counter in the lobby (left arrow on PC). It will say either Mode: Normal|Legit depending on which mode is in use.

Still, having a large level like that is not something that is possible without some sort of "hack" that isn't authorized.

However, without knowing who it was, there's not much that can be done. :|

With Vega, unfortunately, I'd need more information than that to do anything. Any of the other ships I could check the logs for (as I control the machine they run on), but with Vega, I'd need more.

I'll try to send a message to the administrator on Vega to see if he can let me know what I'll need to know. Thank you for letting me know though.

I remember that on BB, you could see players GC number, in logs. Shame we can't use that trick on PSOPC.

is so even if one day I mentioned to (bluecrab)
the need for the server to have a section for that type of problem.
GM REPORTS is always necessary in a server.
and reinforcing course is not possible without a denunciation Print (in the event of a ban would be unfair)
would be the correct NUMBER PRINT + GC

Even with such a feature though, if the guy leaves before you can make a report (as it seems would have happened in this case), you would still need to know the guildcard Number or IP address of the player to make a helpful report.

Generally these types of things haven't been needed here on Sylverant. I'm really not sure what is prompting all of these problems lately, but its kinda worrying to me. :?

I like to generally trust people, but it looks like I might have to start erring more on the side of caution (which I really don't like to do).

It's just the start. You can't trust everyone. If online rate increases, you'd better think of some kind of protection against cheating and so on. Especially if you are planning on implementing Blue Burst service. It's a nightmare on BB.

It's a nightmare on BB.
this is the biggest problem for any online game and not so serious in psobb.
if this were the case I assure you there are many more (HC) to that for psov2 psoBB. but this is not the case here is not the same :!:
everything goes as this type of problem is seen to end the use of cheating is something almost impossible
but if I remember correctly the game psov2 already own the option to use this type of (HC)
an example the command / hack to my knowledge has always existed :!:
in short not to be compared to psoBB or pso v2 Unfortunately there each their vulnerabilities
if I'm wrong correct me if not please let us stop with this DISCUSSION that will not take us anywhere

Entered incorrect access key

Post by FaithY »

When I was setting up my gc, I mistakenly entered the wrong access key.

Is there any way I can correct this?

Thanks

Edit: please move to the q/a thread. That is where I meant to post this.

The only ways to fix it are to buy an original Action Replay (the kind that lets you enter your own codes, as the new ones do not) or remake your characters with the correct keys.
