The game development engine is looking great, that said they are not ready to announce it for any platform, they are just developing a game. Given how disappointing W&W was for Rsg it is possible a Dreamcast port will not materialize.
They gave a total of something like 20-50 games away at one or two conventions, and only as part of some competition or lottery or whatever, but yeah, puzzlers don't sell.
Goat Stores very foundation will disagree with that.
The games marketing on all levels was a fail. For starters it was priced over 50, wtf?
I could get the Goat 5 for cheaper, then you have to factor I. Shipping.
Even before it sold out it was over 20$ and add in shipping and you got 35$.
Goat Store only produced a total of 2000 copies for each of their games and they're still not sold. Sturmwind likely will shift 10.000 units in its first year (The Limited Edition was more than 1000 units). Last Hope probably already sold that many copies by now. I'd love to know how many copies R4 sold...
First and foremost GSP has had an NDA, so with the exception of IRiDES limited edition, no print run information has been publicly shared to my knowledge.
Well speaking of tossed around the forums, I remember Dan getting pissed off over Redspotgames claiming R4 has broken all indie records. He clearly said neither Last-Hope nor R4 can ever come close to selling as much as games being released while the system was a live. Lik-Sang alone sold thousands upon thousands of units.
