Is there anyway to overclock the gigaflops on the Dreamcast?

Post by Calavera »

Sega's Dreamcast console only could do 1.4 gigaflops. An original Xbox system can do 20 gigaflops. Now an original xbox can emulate an awful lot of different systems dang near perfectly. So if we could overclock the damn gigaflops on the Sega Dreamcast up to 20 or close to it we could have all the emulators that the xbox has because then was has the gigaflops on equal ground. Think what Dreamsnes could do with them extra gigaflops. We could have 720p N64 widescreen system emulator at 60fps (frames per second). The extra gigaflops would give extra power to the video stick and make it do 720p. I'm eager to learn so if anyone knows how to kick up the gigaflops I'll give it the beans.

There is a P4 upgrade in the works for DC from what I heard. Basically the SH4 slot is converted into a socket 478 slot but it only works well with 2.4 GHz Pentium 4s. 2.4 GHz/200 MHz = 12. 12 x 1.4 = 16.8 GBFLOPS so its close. The games will look even better than Reboot.

32X Emulation. Star Fox, perhaps. A new world of opportunity is coming
