The only releases that are financially feasible for licensed developers to release on the dreamcast are games that were previously developed for the arcades using the NAOMI board. Since most of those games have been shooters as of late, it only makes sense that the only Dreamcast releases lately have been shooters.q_006 wrote:why is it that companies only make shooters now (for the DC)?

Not bad, not bad. Reminds me a bit (thematically, at least) of an old Apogee game I used to love: Raptor: Call of the Shadows.
I personally love shooters, and I'd buy a number of these if they weren't so bloody expensive. I'd be willing to pay 20 or 30 a pop, and I'd probably buy most of the post-mortem DC shooters that have come out. Unfortunately, that's well under the going rate.

In considering the relative ease both technically and economically of porting naomi to dreamcast one wonders why some non-shooters haven't found their way to the dc. I know i'm not alone in hoping melty blood would see a dc release. Then what of atomiswave titles; how can sega support (although it is limited) these naomi releases and not bother themselves in porting a few titles from one hardware platform of their own to another?

^That's pretty cool. Only criticism is that the 'coming..' is a little too small/hard to read.
