I'm currently forced to work on an old Macbook.
Since the performance of the official build is terrible, I had to compile lxdream for it myself.
I basically just used gcc 6.1. and added -march=x86-64 and the framerate jumped from 40% to 100%.
Requires OS X version 10.7.5 or higher (not tested on later OS X).
Maybe it's of use to somebody.
