Hijacked US crew 'retake vessel'

The US crew of a ship hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia has retaken control of the vessel, according to Pentagon sources.

Unnamed US defence officials said one pirate had been captured by the crew of the Maersk Alabama, seized earlier in the Indian Ocean.

Good for them. By showing them we won't be so easily intimidated they'll be less likely to do it again.

Piracy in the region is actually commonplace. It's not surprising. They are going to do it again and the only reason you know about it is because they want to distract you from anything important. Yes, I think piracy is bad. However, it is a daily occurrence for vessels of all nationalities going through that area including american.

The American reference was just a cheesy patriotic attempt at humor. You'd have to station troops on the shore to prevent this entirely.
