Games are coming out before the system. It happens pretty often actually.Disheveled DrFreeze wrote:the US launch date was the 22nd right? or the 17th?

If they plan on chargeing $60 for games I won't be getting any (and so far tahts what is looks like).
Im not paying $60 for a CD-based game. I can understand the need to charge that kind of money for cartridge games back in the day, but no reason to charge that much when the media cost next to nothing. I imagine they will go down after the system is out for awhile (Remember the $70 and $80 N64 games at release).
I can see the Soccer Mobs lined up at wal-mart all-ready

Im Pondering the Idea of buying some and or putting them on layaway at wal-mart if they let you, And then selling them on ebay.. Cuz Im for sure I could atleast make $100 profit per unit.. I looked at some of the pre-orders online and core systems are going for about $430 or so + shipping.. And Im pretty sure I can get my hands on some on launch day..
the main reason they're upping the cost is due to higher budgets. So they say. Budgets of next gen games are supposed to be about 20% higher than current gen. You also can't really expect them to keep games at $50 forever... They've been that way for 10 years. Inflation has been effectively making them cheaper since the release of the PS1. Many games have budgets that are high enough to the point of needing 250,000 units sold to break even. I can see where the price hike is coming from. Though I do tend to agree that for many games it is too high.Veggita2099 wrote:If they plan on chargeing $60 for games I won't be getting any (and so far tahts what is looks like).

That won't be a problem as Sony has revised their system to use bluray discs and dvd9 discs. So chances are most games will only use dvd9 discs and the larger ones will use blu ray for the added storage.AntiPro wrote:just wait for the prices of BlueRay DVDs before you start complaining.
