"Arthur Desmeules, 66, of Manchester, told a state trooper he was heading from his home to work when he struck a post along the F.E. Everett Turnpike (Route 3) with the government-owned car he was driving, police said... [Trooper Kieran Fagan] said that after speaking with Desmeules he detected alcohol and took him into custody. Fagan would not say whether Desmeules failed or refused a breathalyzer test. Fagan said Desmeules told him he was on his way to Nashua, where was going to pick up students and take them out on the road for driver training."
