What CD-R,CD-RW Brands are you using?
You know sometimes the problem is your CD and not files that you didn't burn right. Some CDs has different surface different silvers, blues, greens etc.
I was wondering what brand you guys are using, so i can make sure that its my files and not CD that DC can't recognize.
Cause i had same problem with my Sony DVD when i was trying to make VCD i wasted many cds including Circuit City brand, Memorex and TDK. Then i had one Verbatin CD-RW 4x that came with my PC that worked.
Thanks.

I use Memorex "Platinum" 700 meg CD-Rs for most things... they're fairly cheap, and seem to be quite reliable (silver bottoms). Fujifilm CD-R's also work quite well (greenish bottom).
I tried TDK brand CD-Rs (i think they had a blueish-silver bottom) and they were the worst I've ever had... many coaster with those pieces of junk
Yesterday I picked up some ghetto "vinyl CD-Rs" by e3works cuz they were on sale. (they have black bottoms and the tops look & feel like a record ). I'm about to try and burn a Dream Inducer disk i'll see how they work.

I've used:
Durabrand (el cheapo stuff to be found $30 per 100 at Wal-Mart)
Black bottom Memorex
Silver bottom Memorex
FujiFilm
and all of them have worked for me.
I also have some colored mini-CDs and a 50pk of Sony CDRs that I need to try. Also I can get a pack of 50 full-sized Memorex colored CDRs for about $14.xx, so I might pick up a spindle.

I've used
Cool Color Memorex CD-Rs
SmartBuy (VERY cheap stuff, $10 for a pack of 50 at Sam Goody)
Memorex Music CD-Rs
and I'm currently using
Fujifilm CD-Rs, 50 pack but I dunno how much it cost, it was an X-Mas gift
I seemed to get a lot of errors with the SmartBuy CD-Rs. I would get errors when I was running other progs while burning. That may be dumb, but I can burn on any cd with progs running except for SmartBuy. I've made a lot of coasters out of the Fujifilm so far but it was because I'm a dumbass and couldn't get an emu to burn right, not the brand's fault.

I use Traxdata 80 mins or Traxdata black 80s and have never had a bad burn with them. They are not too pricey, are of reasonable quality and most are rated at about 40x burn speed.
Edit:
Avoid Imation discs!
I bought a 10 pack of these to see what they were like, backed up some data and got good burns but a few days later, I was having a hard time even accessing the data on 4 of the discs.

TDK black CD-Rs have never given me any trouble. I've had about five coasters from Fuji CD-Rs. The Fujis were in a 50 spindle. Twelve dollars with a ten dollar rebate so I can't complain that they were expensive coasters. I use a Philips CD-RW drive.
I use Imation CD-RWs. Nero's InCD made a coaster while trying to format it so I'm going back to Direct CD.

Only Verbatim(that's Mitsubishi here in Japan for those who wanna know) SuperAZO 40x high-performance CDRs.
They're the best when it comes to DATA storage and reliability.
But when I'm short of ca$h,I use the best low-budget CDR you'll ever find - CREATION 700MB 24x CD :)))
Works almost good as those pricey Verbatim CDRs and it's the cheapest BRAND NAME thing you'll ever find that works 100% of the times with any console or PC.
Gotta buy a 100-pack of 'em :)
