a couple of questions about the Saturn

well im back, and still in trouble with the girlfriend for stealing the blue LED out of her rave light to go in my dreamcast (im sure its what it would have wanted). But anyway... just wanted to say thanks, id never have thought of trying it without these forums.

Now all I have to ask is what saturn games are worth tracking down?
I just came into possession of a used saturn (reliving my mis-spent childhood and all that).. so far ive found a few places near where I live with a lot of games for sale, but not sure which ones in particular to look out for.

Any recommendations?

ps: Am I the only person who prefers the pads that came with the saturn originally? (the big ones with "clicky" L+R buttons on the top)?
Hopefully that does make sense to someone

well, I prefer the "newer" pads, or the US ver of the original japanese ones. Much better to play 2-D fighters with. With that being said, hmm, my picks for the saturn would be:

Nights
Guardian Heroes
Virtua fighter 2 or Virtua fighters megamix.
Night warriors ( the wolf char kicked ass)
(can't forget this one) Street fighter alpha 2-best in the series and on the saturn.

For some nostalgia you could try to find an import copy of X-men vs street figther. Or Marvel vs. street fighter. plays much better than the playstation vers. With tagouts and everything..

don't know why the 4 meg cart didn't come to the US..
I wish I could say more but I was poor in the saturn days( like I'm not now

I would like my original Saturn controllers if they didnt feel so fragile. I think I fudged up player 2's pad, whupping my bro's ass in Street Fighter Alpha....

Is Elevator Action 2 what I think it is?!

Yup. It's reminiscent of Rolling Thunder, only harder, two player, and multi-scrolling levels.

Panzer dragoon saga. Resident evil 1 was nice too if you would want that although its probably easier to get for playstation.

Samurai Spirits 4?!?! I wasnt even aware that is was released on the Saturn! Wow, I'm constantly being reminded how impressive the Saturn library is. Do you know if the 4meg expansion cart is required for it? Definetely worth hunting down......

Samurai Spirits 3 and 4 use the same 1mb cart that metal slus, real bout special and other snk games use. the only snk game that uses the 4mb cart (officially) is king of fighters 97.

if you can hunt it down, pick up the special edition samurai spirits 3+4+ram combo pack.
