Bloody Identity

Post by cube_b3 »

They say you can identify any one with their blood type or atleast that's what I'm prominently seeing in Dexter.

The thing is we have 6 blood types A,B and O (+/-), I regularly donate blood so I know their are several others in the world sharing my blood.

How is it unique to every one if you can donate it?

You can't identify the person by the blood, but you can identify the blood by the person.

For example, if A- blood is found at a crime scene and a suspect shares the same blood type, that would be evidence they were there. Plus, I think blood contains something called DNA. That'll ID someone quick.

You forgot AB (not surprising since it's rare), which brings it up to 8. Either way, those are really just broad categories that are useful for initial screening in transfusions. There are many more specific variations.

Hey Boney,

Since you seem really knowledgeable on a lot of hard-to-obtain information, I was hoping you could help me out. They say that all humans breathe air, and that 'air' is primarily made up of nitrogen (78.09%) and oxygen (20.95%). The remaining 1% is made up of argon (0.93%), carbon dioxide (0.039% as of 2010) and other trace gases (0.003%). Water vapor (water in its gaseous state) is also present in the atmosphere in varying amounts, by up to 2%. But I can't see it. Does it exist? And how could something be real if it's invisible?

Did you know that the extremely low number of white blood cells allows us to donate blood according to type, without the need for anti-rejection medication? Red blood cells do not carry our DNA. Ooooooooh.

Every atom is 99.9% empty space, and everything is made of atoms.
So you are 99.9% empty space, as is the entire universe.

To answer your specific question sonny, simply wear a pair of glasses into a hot room after spending some time in the cold outside. Watch water-vapour appear in-front of your very eyes!

Okay, Thanks.

Also, I was watching the movie 28 Days Later and in this movie, the 'Rage' virus was spread from ape to man. Could this film be a reality if an ape ever bit a man?

Not at all. While many species are capable of transmitting virus to humans, apes cannot due to the Human-Primate Treaty of 1952 signed in Dusseldorf. I guess it's possible that they could break that treaty, but then there is nothing stopping us from eating all their bananas.

What if the man fornicated with the ape. And then it bit him?

That's probably because the man promised the ape a banana. It would seem the problem solved itself.

Blood type was originally used to determine parentage and in forensics before DNA was
found to be useful in this matter. Better equipment being invented that allowed it to be studied.

Additionally people with certain blood types could only have parents of certain types. Thereby determining parentage. This is unreliable due to a limited number of types. Though it does increase the number of data possibilities to 64.

Also, a cat's iris does not provide on oval shape.
