Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Hello
I am trying to put together a definitive disc for SMS Plus. Since DC Evololution is down I can't get at their database of screen shot data. Can anyone help me out with either of the following:
1) A link to an alternate place where I can get the database
2) A tool that will allow me to take my own screen shots in a format that is compatible with SMS Plus
Thanks very much for any help.

I made many screenshots of MS games long ago, will upload them later today if I remember.

They're supposed to be here: http://dcevolution.net/cgi-bin/dckbyabb ... rd=smsplus
but they're offline since we had to take down our site after we got hacked in late 2007.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Cheers for that Juan!
Although I must remind Rat King that the packs are quite outdated - there've been many new roms released through SMSPower, not to mention one or two GoodSMS/GG revisions - since then, so there's a chance you may still have to create some extra screenshots to suit a complete romset.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Thanks guys. I downloaded the packs and will have a look.
I tried creating screen shots by taking the title shots from the video game museum and converting them to PCX format, but it didn't work. SMS Plus did not like my snaps, even though I was careful to name them the same as the rom files.
Hopefully I can get it working with these packs.
Thanks again.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
They need these exact values: 256x192 pix at 8bpp (256 colors). Game Gear shots need to be 160x144.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Yeah, I need to update that pack again. As stated in the readme the current pack is synchronised with SMS Checker. The last update was in 2005. I don't know if there where many new Master System rom releases in the mean time, but it might be better to switch to GoodSMS than.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
No, let's stick with SMSChecker. That's the much better program!
- I'll see if I can upload my current snapshot archive so we can put a decent update together.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Yeah, I prefer to grab an up-to-date GoodSMS/GG set, then run the lot through SMS Checker to get more simple (and accurate!) filenames.
When SMSPower bring out new roms, they tend to be named in a SMSChecker-compatible manner by default.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Thanks for the help guys. I now have a working slide show with SMS Plus DC. Its a small thing, but it makes the presentation feel more polished.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Seems those two links are wormfood now. Anyone still hosting snapshot packs these days?

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
I'll have a look, but in the meantime you can find them included to this:
http://www.dcevolution.net/index.php?id ... 00_edition
Just mount or burn the image and browse its content.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
That only covers the PD roms provided, though. No snaps for commercial titles.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
As far as I remember I included some extra stuff - like a snapshot archive.

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
Well I've looked all over the CD and can't find anything relating to a snapshot archive on it. :-[

Re: Help with Master System / Game Gear title shots
The SMS Plus packs were on DCHelp all the time, with all the changes the info and links just vanished (along with everything else ):
