I had to post here, cause it wouldn't let me on the others..

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Ok, I was just wondering is there a particular type/brand/speed of CD-R that should be used for .cdi games? Cause I used the discjugglar settings on the "how to burn .cdi with discjugglar" forum, but it still doesn't work.

Are those indeed the correct advanced settings for DJ?

Depends on the games. Please name some you wish to burn.

don't use discjuggler. Use alcohol 120% you can download it and use the free trial. It has burned every .cdi I have tried. On the other hand discjuggler has mangled so many of my discs that I will never use it again.

Alcohol 120% in RAW DAO mode at a low speed works every time. As for CD-Rs, just get something decent like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

The funny thing is I assumed any CD-R brand would work on the Dreamcast...until I tried 'K Hypermedia' CDs which didn't boot when I burned Alice Dreams and Echo's Quest. At first I thought my DC was dying on me, then I tried burning the exact same files to Sony CD-Rs and they worked fine! From then on I've avoided 'K Hypermedia' disks.
