DreamSNES question

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

DreamSNES question

Post by efergus3 »

I'm sorry bluecrab i didnt know Segagen wasnt allowed. Maybe you can help me with another question. My friend also gave me a disc with DreamSNES on it. A lot of the games play slowly. Is there a better snes emulator, or is a new version of DreamSNES coming out soon?

First off, moved to the appropriate forum.

Second of all, unfortunately, there hasn't been any new releases of DreamSNES in a long while, and I don't believe that any emulators have surpassed it as of yet. You may try looking at this topic to see if that can speed things up for you any. It won't make things perfect, but it may help a little bit.

Latest Snes4all looks faster than DreamSNES.

Yeah, the Dreamcast may be really old. The scene may be long gone in all practical sense, with the exception of a few devs that number less than the fingers on one hand. BUT... there is a new king of the hill concerning SNES emulation. Snes4All

People can finally put their DreamSnes disc to rest with finality. That is unless of course you use it as a rom swap disc.

It's a modified version of a commercial Sega release.
Nowadays I don't think anyone particularly cares whether it's discussed, it's more because it's traditionally been banned from the site.
