Which Mame port is best?

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Which Mame port is best?

Post by StriderXg2 »

I have no idea where to put this, so here i will. Which one has the best support for sound and games, circa early 80's like PacMan and Asteroids and Frogger...(some are 70s but still).

No...im asking which one of the three that are available run the best for early 80's Mame games. Some mames for DC are buggy, some are slow, i think MamedDC is a good choice but..thats what im asking..

Remember that old 4 player Simpsons arcade game from back in the early 90's (I think)?
Think they'll have that? cause I loved that game back in the day, and kinda wish that Konami made a version for the consoles that could prolly run it perfectlty.......

http://consolevision.com/members/sbiffy/files/ has multiple versions of the WowPack in SBI format.

Also, there is a tutorial on using SBInducer at http://dcevolution.net/DCHelp/?id=sbindv4

There was a single game emulator made for that game. Actually, there was also an emulator that was made that was optimized for Simpsons and Vendetta together.

Those emulators can also be found over at http://www.consolevision.com/members/sbiffy/

The links aren't down. Your browser isn't configured properly to download SBI files. That's an easy fix.

Right click your mouse on the file. Then save to disk.

No they didn't. Your computer just thinks they are.

Try this:

Rename one of the files you downloaded so that it has a ZIP extension. Then, open it with WinZIP or WinRAR and see what you can see. If you see "Inducer" in there as the top-level directory, then it downloaded just fine. Simply rename it back to having an SBI extension, and run SBInducer.

Marvel vs Capcom runs on Dreamcast without using an emulator. They've been released by Capcom. Check ebay.

Newer MAME games aren't supported by the existing Dreamcast ports. The latest machines that are supported in MAME4All are earlier 16-bit machines like CPS1 and the 4p Turtles hardware by Konami (and of course NeoGeo in Neo4All and AES4All!)
