Best burner?

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Best burner?

Post by jdubs »

Guys

I've had zero luck getting my LG multi burner to successfully burn DC software (several burning apps tried including ImgBurn 2.5.7.0 and DiscJuggler). I've used discs burned by others with no problem.

I've tried Memorex and Maxell 700mb cd-rs.

I'm going to, now, try and find an external USB cd burner and need some suggestions of PROVEN burners. I just need something that will kick out CDs that will actually play in my DC.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!
Jim

Does your dreamcast read cd-r's at all? Because the last dreamcasts that were released don't read them.

Yep, definitely reads cd-rs (burned by someone else) just fine.

You should burn using DATA/DATA mode, using BootDreams for example.

You should burn at the slowest speed also. Preferable 4x if your burner allows it.
