This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Now, to what are you referring? You have read this entire thread, right? You saw the statement that I might be a judge, correct? That's what I meant when I said that "I might have a say in that". CA won't be entering. Even though we've got a project we could enter (which we hopefully will be close to finishing by the time the deadline rolls around), we aren't because we don't think it would encourage other game makers to enter.

Hehehe...this smells like a sequel is in the works.
If that's the case, that one will surely be a strong contender.
We've already stated in multiple places that we won't be doing a FoF2 any time soon.

Nope, that wouldn't be right. I just was reffering to any commercial Dreamcast games I'll release will for the most part go back into the Dreamcast community.
How easy is it to import Lightwave 3D objects into the code for a Dreamcast game? I really want to do some graphics for someone.... if I have the time.
here is a few samples of my animations from college
Depends. If you can find code to read the geometry of Lightware objects, it shouldn't be that hard. If, on the other hand, you can't, and can't work the format out, there's not a change.
The only Lightwave format I've seen was fairly simplistic, but would be a pain to write a DC-based model reader for. It might be easier to rig up a converter on a PC, and translate it to a custom model format, which could be more easily read.
I think Milkshape 3D can read lightwave objects, can't it? If so, it should be possible to write a model exporter plugin for that. I did consider writing some kind of plugin for MS3D once, but I never got around to it.
Oh, nice models, by the way. If you're serious, and we can make it work, I'd like some help with mine. Just give me some time to work everything out, and get these blasted assignments and exams out of the way (I loathe "object oriented analasys", by the way)
Cool, I'd be glad to help if I can find the time. Yeah, I know for a fact there are a lot of things around that can convert certain programs' objects into other formats, so I guess finding a program that would convert it into a usable DC format would be great.

The browser supports Java, so you can get the browser to run your java games. I was talking in the channel once bout this, and throwing the idea around bout turning the browser into a java loader. DCLinux can also run java.
