Jump 'n' Bump
Just released a simple port of Jump 'n' Bump. There's no sound or music, and the graphics are in a window in the middle of the screen, because Jump 'n' Bump uses some weird screen size that the DC can't handle. Other than that, it's fully playable, and you can even use custom levels, if you're willing to do a bit of hacking.

I'm planning on adding sound and music, as soon as I can find a MOD player that doesn't reset the Dreamcast, and (hopefully) stretching the image to fill the whole screen.

BA: You mention having trouble with full-screening it - for the MDC stuff I had to do loads of fiddling to get full-screen mode working for all games (obviously the problem in MDC is that each driver has different and often wierd settings). I can have a look at getting it full screen if you like.

My own port
Hey,
I have ported Jump n Bump about a year and a half ago. But since
I'm an uber-slacker, I never released it. It supported full screen (bilinear
stretched) gameplay, with up to four players (controllers can connect and
disconnect during gameplay.) It had a cool menu (some effects,) with an
easy to use level selector (previews the level onscreen,) and acted like a real DC game, you open the cd tray, and it reboots (yay!) It had both
music and sound playing (I just had to kill that annoying fly sample!) I
even had to patch KOS for supporting these new types of audio. Anyway,
I never released it because I could never find the time to complete the
version. If anybody is interested, I can mail the sources; other than that,
I think I can find some screenshots. That's all.

To be honest, if I ported a small game like that, I wouldn't release it isn't if it wasn't perfect. People here complain too much, especially back then.-=DC_Zach=- wrote:You... uh... don't really believe him do you???

I only released this version because somebody asked me to. I wasn't going to release it until I was happy with it (fullscreen, sound, music and level selector).
Edit: It was impetus that asked me for a release, even if it wasn't perfect.
I'll see if I can upload the source code a bit later, and anyone who wants to can have a look at it. It does suck quite badly though. Not even near finished.

Just wanted to clarify, I think it's great that you released it. I love interm software (as a person who grew up on the early stages of emulation...). I just meant I wouldn't, not that it's bad in general.BlackAura wrote:I only released this version because somebody asked me to. Yeah, I wouldn't have released it if impetus hadn't asked me to.
Edit: Source Code available. I'll work on it some more later.
