To those curious, it's better to have an inverter in a car for these reasons:

GFCI
- The inverter sort of acts as a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. When/if there is a spike in power the fuse will cut out on the line side first, before it ever reaches the load.
Inverter - Inverts DC to AC current which the Dreamcast obviously uses.
Transformer - Converts the DC's 12.6v/variable-amperage power source into 125v/15amp AC current, similar to a household receptacle
Regulator - DC current (especially in a car) is often fluctuating depending on the load in the circuit (lights, alternator, wipers, etc). The inverter also acts as a stabilizer, keeping a constant voltage to prevent damage to circuits, and load shut down.

Therefore less equipment stress.

:D ive just read them both at least i now i know when i get in that death trap the inverters the safest thing to cling to, well apart from the fire extinguisher thats almost empty

I would have to have a Sonic dangling from the rear view mirror like in Rad Mobile, for the gear knob i would have to use a Sanwa balltop or atleast somthing that gave it that joystick look
