Yeah, that would work; but I suggest getting them at http://www.lsdiodes.com instead. They have better LEDs of that same kind, a lot to choose from, and are always mostley under $1.

Hope that helps. :)

DAMNIT! i messed it up.,.. when i was pulling the led out i guess it wasnt hot enough and one of the (looks like a tiny brass tunnel came out of the hole where the led goes into..and is filled with solder. :( DC still works but no LED :(

Just trace where the hole was and use an alternate point.

Sure no problem.

Use hook-up wire to do that. Not sure what exact size, doesn't really matter I dont think.

By, the way, in the picture on that topic, I just soldered a wire to the red circles and left the blue one alone and it worked fine.

Long led on LED = positive. Shorter leg on LED = negative.

To see which is which you could just touch one leg on pin 1 on the PSU and touch the other leg on pin 4 or 5 on the PSU while the Dreamcast is on. If the LED doesn't light up, switch the legs around so their on the pin they wern't before.

The picture below helps show what I mean.

Use the thinnest wire you can, thick wire could crack the controllerboard when you screw it in.

Ok im just going to solder the wire to the PSU pins and see if it works? Is this right? Or are you guys telling me to connect it to the psu just as a temporary thing to see if it works?

Yeah, but why waste PSU power like that? Just solder it back to the controller board, because there's 3.3v right there that is gonna be unused otherwise.
