Yeah, that would work; but I suggest getting them at http://www.lsdiodes.com instead. They have better LEDs of that same kind, a lot to choose from, and are always mostley under $1.

Hope that helps.
thanks for the link! how much is the shipping though?
edit: its 2 dollars ship and so thats cheaper then the radio shack one but its too late becuase i already have the radio shack one and im going to be soldering tomorrow, no time to wait.
DAMNIT! i messed it up.,.. when i was pulling the led out i guess it wasnt hot enough and one of the (looks like a tiny brass tunnel came out of the hole where the led goes into..and is filled with solder. DC still works but no LED
What is the brass (i think brass?) thing for? i think im screwed
To see which is which you could just touch one leg on pin 1 on the PSU and touch the other leg on pin 4 or 5 on the PSU while the Dreamcast is on. If the LED doesn't light up, switch the legs around so their on the pin they wern't before.
Ok im just going to solder the wire to the PSU pins and see if it works? Is this right? Or are you guys telling me to connect it to the psu just as a temporary thing to see if it works?
Yeah, but why waste PSU power like that? Just solder it back to the controller board, because there's 3.3v right there that is gonna be unused otherwise.
