with this is says u connect both to the 3.3 but dont u just connect one to the 3.3 and the other to the ground?

Just do what it says and it will work.

How is it supposed to work if there's no current running through the diodes ? (and there won't if you wire both pins to 3,3V).

Do as your brains thinks, hook the longer pin to the 3,3V and the shorter to gnd.

I think he forgot to tell about grounding the diodes, but was talking of 2 diodes, so 2 wires go to 3,3V
