Portable Dreamcast allmost done

Post by dkap01 »

Well my Portable Dreamcast is just about done. Here are 2 pictures one of it running and one of the back. I should have it done by this weekend. All I have left is to paint the front of the case. So I'll have the finshed pictures on my site by the end of the week...

More importantly: what type of power supply does it run on, and how long does the battery last? ;)

Ok, I just finished painting to front and it turned out great.... All I have to do know is wait for the paint to dry, so I can start to put everything together. Check out the new pic's of the case here :

As you can see the whole case will be white and all the buttons will be black. I'll post picture's when I put the buttons in...

If you are using one of these dc's, and it looks like you are, are you using one that can read cdrs? Also an idea that I once thought of to slim it down more was to use a portable cd player's laser assembly. I had an old broken one, and the laser was pin compatible with the dc's laser port, and it seemed to be working when I plugged it in. I had taken the motor out earlier though, and I couldn't get it realligned.

So, if you want to slim it down even more try and use a portable cd player's laser assembly. This might not work for games that are intensive on the motor.

When I get it all together I will let everyone know how I did it. Like what power surply I used and so on. I should have it all done by this weekend. If you take a look at my site you can see some of the other portables If done. The portable playstation I did was on techtv last year and I was the first to make a portable Jaguar. Later tonight I might post a picture of the system with the new black buttons in so stay tune...................

Looks really really really great.I think plastic molding is the only step you need to make any dreamcast mod truly complete, you surely are doing a fine job here ,way to go!
Btw,are there any shoulder buttons you are going to put into it?
Holy crap is that a dreamcast?

Wow, a portable Jaguar. Difficult?

:grinthumb:

BTW, I can't get your page to work... That's a fantastic mold job though. Are you sure the joystick button placement won't be awkward?

That is quite amazing. Props. :)

Would you by any chance be the guy featured in EGM that did the portable PS1? :D :)
Dreamcast: It's thinking. And it thinks you suck.
