im willing to bet he tapped that fan off of the 5v power supply pin
i cant do that since i already have 3 things running off of my 5v pinbut maby on my other dc
all u got to do is cut a gap in the back and drill holes for the fan to mount on to it
simple then tap it off of the 5v pin and grnd

Well since I dont know jack about wiring and electronics, I had my dad do that stuff. I did the cutting and screwing and such. Check this out and tell me what ya think:

I decided to put the fan so it is directly blowing on the pins, since everyone says THOSE are the hotspot that causes the system to reset after an hour or 2. I figured it would be better then blowing in on the center of the back because thats just ganna go on the cd drive, and that is not the problem.

strangly enough i just got done doing the same thing to mine two days ago. i went to radio shack and bought a microprocessor fan and heatsink.(just for the fan of course) it was only about 4 bucks. i put it on the side and added a switch incase i wanted to turn it off. i should have pics tomorrow.I decided to put the fan so it is directly blowing on the pins, since everyone says THOSE are the hotspot that causes the system to reset after an hour or 2. Oh and I see you are located in Kansas too. Where at?

I'm worrying about that! That has happened to a previous fan from my current comp and I dont want it to happen to the one on my dc now. Maybe there's a way to hook on some kind of metal screen to the fan? Sorta like the stuff that protects car speakers...dcmodder wrote:That's basically where i got my first fan but one of the blades broke off of it and it's almost impossible to fix. (trust me i tried)
