Making a custom Coders Cable.

Post by Windseer »

At the suggestion of Blue Crab I am attempting to make a Coders Cable using an hdmi port and a USB to Serial converter board. I have the cable completly stipped and the board is in transit. My problems is that I am unsure of how to encase the contacts when I put everything together. I have included pics of my build so far. Any help or suggests would be great.

The longer side of the HDMI connector has the same number of pins and spacing as does the Dreamcast serial port. It isn't a perfect fit, and requires some work (cutting off the bottom of the connector, for instance), but it should work just as well as any of the other jerry-rigged solutions for getting a plug.
